There's something about Vans

Look up in the sky - it's a bird it's a plane.

Look down on the ground - and it's generally the same.

Vans... yep, look down at most feet under a certain age. This is the comfortable footwear of choice for many a person around about the way. I must say, looking down you will defiantly be greeted by an array of colours. All signed under the Vans tag.

Initially this brand was strictly a skater make. One of the brands that they would rock. This of course, was before the masses took stock. Now, mainstream it is. Saturating the fashion market.

They are not so expensive, perhaps adding to their appeal. Where as bigger and well reknown brands can range from £50 - £80 plus. These pumps must seem a steal. They are produced in more colours than a technicolour dream coat.

They look good - no doubt about that. They fly of the shelves like mad - consumers wanting them to caress their feet bad.

Now I could sit here and say that i was wearing them from a long time ago - before they really caught on within the public domain. But who really cares, when I wear them (more and more begrudedly these days). I look like any other sheep. Out there walking in colourful unison up and down the street. Is it an exgagaration to say that many of us have been afflicted by the Vans epidemic. (Just a lil' bit..)

Liverpool has most definitaly succumbed to this addictive fashion trend. A hurricane sweeping all before it. Many displaying a prefrence to sporting super fresh to death Vans that look beyond extra crispy box fresh. This is the look the indigenous folk go for when displaying theirs. Hipsters and Fashionistas.. the more worn and distressed look. Vans with character, it doesn't really matter how you wear them.

When will this trend end? who know's... Many of us are slaves to fashion. Buying and wearing Vans, just goes to show.
