Azonto
Popular music from the mother land has swarmed the UK scene and practically given Bashment a time out on the naughty step. Here in a typical London club for example, the generic music genres would be given a time out later on in the night for non stop hour plus sessions of relentless Bashment and perhaps soca... then after an aerobic workout that you wouldn't get down your local gym, it would return back to regular scheduled programming with the Hiphop, RnB, funky house and so forth.
However, with African Popular music now making serious waves within the UK, Azonto is now a genre setting up shop and demanding its legal right to stay in the UK and become an official citizen of this country.
Whats even more interesting is that a once clear divide between cultures has now diminished musically. West Indians who were and are in the champions league when it comes to wining and gyrating to an aerobic BPM (Beats Per Minute), are now eager students willing to learn the physical mechanics of pulling off legitimate, authentic Azonto dance moves.
Music is truly a universal language.
