Opening Pandora's box

Another day and it's time for another super interesting book. Since reading and thoroughly enjoying 'Spilling the beans on the cats pyjamas' I have wanted another book of similarly quirky, yet engrossing proportions. Looks like this nifty book fits that bill.

'Opening Pandora's box' is all about the commonly used phrases used within the English language and how many of them have derived from the Greek classics alongside old Roman narratives. Author, Ferdie Addis, sheds light on many sayings, such as 'Achilles heel,' 'Midas touch' and 'halcyon days' in an easily readable and pretty educating manner. This is one of those books that can be picked and enjoyed at any time at ones convenience.

Already this is proving to be quite the entertaining read as I initially would have  imagined.
