Winter's coming...

Winter's slowly approaching and I don't mind to be honest...

The fashion is always fun to play around with.  So much more ways to express yourself from head to toe.  So many textures, options, layers and accessories its genuinely more enjoyable picking what to wear when battling the elements, and ensuring you look smooth as a cup of fine cognac whilst doing so.

The cosy nights kick into gear and things get a little nostalgic.  The energy companies perk up and start creaming off of the temperature drop.  No doubt another "coldest winter since records began" will ring in our ears.  Eitherway, I love clasping both hands around a big old mug full of hot cocoa topped with a sprinkling of tiny marshmellows and spiked with a drop of Baileys.

The TV tends to go into overdrive with channels battling for viewing figures, so we are spoiled with a ton of reality, talent, all singing, all dancing shows whether it be on ice or regular laminate flooring.  Not to mention the race for 'christmas number 1' which seems to be a more open market as opposed to a complete X-factor landslide which was the case in years passed.  Hollywood also successfully lures us out the front door to trot off to the cinema and experience a good old fashioned plot less, scary, jumpy film whilst scoffing overpriced warm sweet popcorn.

The dinners and gatherings get more frequent, and staying in becomes the new going out.  This means good home cooked delights and plenty of laughter.  Most people concede that braving the elements, freezing your pants off standing in a line without a coat because you don't want to spend hours lining up for the cloakroom at the end of the night, is not fun.

Holidays play a highlight, where the cool kids brag they are disappearing to a hot destination which is currently experiencing record hot temperatures.  Yes, I had the pleasure of doing this last December when I flew to Mauritius to change the weather.  Nothing quite like revelling in a hot country knowing the weather back home is seriously dark and gloomy, and you'll be returning with a golden glow just to remind people incase you didn't tell them enough.  The perfect way to break up this period.

Gymming and exercising is a good way to pass the evenings, with thoughts of looking right for summer bouncing around the walls of your sub conscious.  Perhaps this year, I will actually pull this off with a little, actually alot of serious discipline and dedication.

If there's one thing this country England, is good at, its winters.
