Look at me now: Ross Bagley

Today's jaunt down memory lane leads us to another former child prodigy. If you didn't instantly recognise the cute little chappie in the picture then perhaps this blog isn't for you. If that is indeed the case do not despair, continue reading and you'll get to know who he is, or in acting terms, was.

"When a couple of guys who were up to no good starting making trouble in my neighbourhood..." Yes, that's it, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The  show that catapulted Willard Smith into stratosphere and the other cast members, to mediocrity. This fantastic show finished all the way back in 1996, wow, really, that long ago. Anyway, in the later phase of the show (94-96) a baby then young child was introduced as the newest member to the Banks family. That child was affectionately known as 'little Nicky'. This was because his name was Nicky and he was little - hence the moniker. Nicky brought light hearted humour and smiles  amidst the shows heavy weights, Will, Carlton and of course uncle Phil. Obviously.

For a child actor, Nicky, real name Ross Bagley in case you didn't note the title wasn't actually too bad at his profession. He was rather alright. Delivering his lines without too much trouble, although one could often detect a touch of oak wood and  stiffness when Nicky was required to speak for longer than a second. But us fans looked past that because of his tender years. The old adage being that actors should never work with children, animals or the elderly, (the latter forget their lines). In the case of children, Ross did a sterling job to dispel any prejudice's about his age.

So, let's get down to the nitty gritty. What has Ross Bagley done since he became probably the most well known little black boy on TV back in the 90's? For your information young Bagley kept himself busy for quite sometime. He really did. Featuring in films such as Buckwheat Thomas (I don't remember it), The little rascals (my sister loved that), and Independence day, (that hugely successful film about aliens who just wanted to say 'hi' but things got misconstrued and everything kicked off). Little Ross was on a crest of a wave - his career sailingly spendidly in the wind. Alongside the aforementioned films Ross also lent his voice to a puppy in the film that Islamic fundamentalists tried to ban, Babe.

Since those early days of bringing home the bacon for his parents, facilitating their lavish lifestyle - Ross has gone on to study cinema and television arts in the Californian state university. Demonstrating that he wanted to be more than just an actor with a pretty face.

Now, at the solid age of 25, Ross (he doesn't even look like a Ross) is by the looks of the accompanying grown up picture trying to break into the modelling world. And with a dreamy, sexy look/pose like that he's got going on who's to say that he won't put more smiles on the faces of many like he did all those years ago as the lovely little boy in The Prince of Bel-Air.
