The return

The main man has dusted himself off. Donned his tux and is slowly but surely reminding folk that there is another singer by the name of Justin in the world of popular music. Forget that little spoilt brat with baby mama's hidden in his toy box; Mr Timberlake was (in many quarters) the original king of modern day pop. And now, like a phoenix out of the flames he is back. The giant that was in a musical coma has awoken and not a minute too soon.

As with many artists they can become bored or need a new creative outlet from their first love and hanker to venture into new fields. Acting, was that allure for this former Nsync cat. So, as we are fully aware of - Justin has been carving a somewhat respectable career as an actor. However, his fans (such as myself) have been wishing he would drop the thespian business and just get back to what he does best. Which is - singing and performing, basically entertaining us.

That time has arrived, and it is gathering pace. Saturday 2nd February 2013. (A momentous occasion in the history of music).  JT performed his first come back show in nearly five years during a pre - Super Bowl bash. Kitted out in an opaque tuxedo. He reminded his crowd of one of his early classics by opening with 'Like I Love You.' Backed up by a nifty 10 piece band Justin performed for 90 minutes and eventually brought out Sir Jay.Z to do his bit to Suit & Tie, a track from his new album which has has been received to mixed reviews.

The come back gig that incorporated his older songs and two new tracks such as 'Little Pusher Love Girl' and 'That Girl' plus an INXS cover and a Jackson Five number all combined to having the crowd in full adoration for the returning crooner.

This months Grammy and Brit Awards will also showcase Timberlake's new 20/20 Experience music. Time will tell if his return will herald a new era for this dude. If he delivers like I expect him to do (I sincerely hope so), it will further reiterate to us (well me) that this is indeed the year that the original Justin is back in the game.
