Courageous Covers
Some songs are just meant to be sung be a certain type of singer. With some songs you need to hear the pain and suffering of a troubled existence in a singer's voice for the song to fully resonate. With these two singers I doubt that I could think of a finer example.

The Cover, by Amy Winehouse
Comparisons between the two women were chillingly evident, few artists manage to cover a song and excite the same feel of the original. I think the passionate yet painful expression that epitomized Billie Holiday's voice is apparent in Amy Winehouse's version also.
